Sunscreens offer varying degrees of protection against UVA/UVB. However, sun damage is not caused by UVA/UVB alone. Recent scientific evidence has revealed that HEV (Blue Light) is also a major and significant cause of hyperpigmentation and premature aging of skin. Environmental Pollution, too, has been shown to be also very harmful to skin.

A good sunscreen, then, must be able to offer adequate and effectiveprotection against all these – UVA/UVB, HEV, and Environmental Pollution. This is where protection score ratings of SPF, PPD, and HEV, provide the first clue to whether you are choosing the right sunscreen.

Next, ensure score ratings stated on the products are clinically proven. The sunscreen should also have anti-pollution and anti-oxidant properties and be non-comedogenic. Needless to say, the texture of the sunscreen is also an important factor to consider.
